Microsoft Document Imaging (MDI) is a proprietary image format created by Microsoft, MODI (MS Office Document Imaging) program, for storing images of scanned documents primarily. Such MODI program, was originally included in MS Office XP, 2003, and 2007. It was later discontinued in subsequent releases of MS Office. It remains to be a popular format for certain organizations.
